Lake City Comprehensive Housing Study

In May of 2002, the Lake City Economic Development Authority, in partnership with the City of Lake City and the Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing and Redevelopment Authority, commissioned the firm of AdMark Resources, Inc. to complete a comprehensive housing study for our community.

The housing study includes a summary of findings; a demographic analysis that includes population, households, employment and income; an existing housing inventory; interviews and surveys; a summary of single family housing development; agencies and resources and a findings and recommendations section that includes rental housing development, single family housing development, home ownership and housing rehabilitation.

Housing

Annually the Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing and Redevelopment Authority applies for and is awarded an allocation for lower interest loans for first time homebuyers through the Minnesota Cities Participation Program. Please contact Lake City Federal Savings and Loan Association or American Bank to see if you may qualify for this program.

Lake City Bike Trail

In January of 2002, the Lake City Economic Development Authority unveiled a bike trail study for the community. A copy of which can be received by contacting the Lake City EDA.
